How the platform actually thinks.

The ideas underneath the product — how a shot is specified, how continuity is enforced, how takes are scored, and how cost is predicted rather than discovered. Full documentation and API reference ship alongside early access.

Core concepts

Four ideas that shape everything else in the system.

The production graph

Every creative decision and asset is connected to the script, character state, scene, shot, take, model invocation, approval and final edit. It is the thing that makes a film reproducible.

Shot-first production

The unit of production is the shot, not the movie. Every scene decomposes into independently versioned shots and takes, so nothing depends on one long generation being right.

Stateful continuity

Character, costume, prop, injury, lighting and location state persist across scenes. The engine compiles what must be visible before a shot generates, then checks the result against it.

Model-agnostic routing

Requests are normalized internally, then routed by task type, reference needs, difficulty, economics and reliability — with director override always available.

What continuity actually tracks

Continuity is the most defensible layer in the platform, and the least glamorous. This is what it watches.

CategoryWhat is checked
IdentityFace, body, hair, age, scars and tattoos stay consistent with approved references.
WardrobeCorrect costume, colour, accessories and wet, damaged or bloodied state.
PropsCorrect object, in the correct hand, in the correct condition.
InjuriesExistence, side of the body and progression over the story timeline.
LocationLayout, entrances, horizon, destruction state, fire and smoke, time of day.
Screen directionLeft/right movement, eyelines and shot-reverse-shot logic.
Lighting & weatherSun and moon direction, rain, fog, firelight and exposure continuity.
NarrativeWho knows what, emotional state, and the ordering of dialogue and events.

How takes are scored

Every take is scored before it consumes director attention. Scores are explainable and stored as structured data — automated QC can reject obvious failures and rank the rest, but final creative approval stays with a human.

Spec adherence

Did the take satisfy the action, framing, camera move and environment it was specified with?

Identity consistency

Does the performer match the approved reference pack for this character?

Continuity

Are wardrobe, props, injuries and location correct for this point in the story?

Artifact risk

Hands, faces, geometry, duplicated objects, morphing and text errors.

Motion & physics

Natural body movement, collisions, cloth, weapons and crowd behaviour.

Lip & audio sync

Dialogue timing, mouth motion, speaker attribution and noise.

Editorial usability

Clean head and tail, stable composition and compatibility with the cut.

Safety & rights

Policy and provenance checks before a take is eligible for approval.

The economics of generated film

Budget envelopes depend heavily on accepted-take rate, clip duration, resolution, model selection and how much human finishing is applied.

Cost per approved second

The number that matters is not published cost per generated second. A difficult action shot can take many attempts, so the platform models raw cost and historical acceptance probability together.

Learned, not assumed

The system continuously learns a studio-specific prediction of what it costs to get an accepted take from a given model for a given shot. That beats a simple cheapest-per-second rule.

Prices are configuration

Model names, capabilities and prices change constantly. They live in a model registry with a last-verified timestamp — never hard-coded into business logic.

Vocabulary

Terms the product uses, and what they mean precisely.

TermDefinition
Shot specThe structured definition of a shot: framing, lens, camera, action, lighting, continuity and constraints.
TakeOne generated result for a shot, with its own provenance, scores and approval state.
Reference packThe specific references compiled for a single generation — only what that shot needs.
Quality tierPrevis, draft, production or hero. Determines model policy, budget and retry behaviour.
Continuity snapshotThe state of every tracked entity at a given point in the story timeline.
Provider gatewayThe internal abstraction all media generation runs through, keeping the platform vendor-independent.
